When I make my original work, I really want to focus on characters + lore / world-building + and plot. Brainworms come when there's bait and not an established romantic relationship. I want full-on fujobait and complicated relationships. But I'm also shit at writing. Life is hard for a hobbyist.

Here's a more concrete example.

It's silly examples I'm coming up on the fly. Something I did many years ago when I had a huge Final Fantasy phase was ask this question: What if Mages and Summoners went to war?
It eventually led to another question: And what if the summoners were the losers in that war?
Then another: What does that society look like 500 years into the future?
And so on and so forth. I proceeded to create a story out of that premise with characters, relationships, plots, and scenarios
