I was playing this with my scrote friend and we both burst out laughing at this CG and I can't stop smirking about it

That's understandable. It's a shame to know it's probably not worthy of the hype, but I'm still planning to give it a try one day just because I'm trying to play every denpa VN available to me. Did the routes (from what you played of TJ's) feel different from each other, or were they kind of rehashing the same plot beats but with a focus on another character?
>>11538
It looks interesting, at least, and the art is pretty nice for an indie VN. Hopefully, it's gotten more interesting for you!

 No.11644

>>11637
The route split occurs after all the characters fight by a riverside, in both Carl's and TJ's you immediately hang out and deal with the fact that your friends are shit and you'd rather hang out with just him. It looks like the first part of each route is probably learnings the inner workings of the character and their internal conflict then the second half has the supernatural elements and "real" conflict of the route. Based just on what was revealed in Carl's there is probably a multi-route mystery about the true nature of Echo (the town).

Good luck nonna if you ever try.

>Hopefully, it's gotten more interesting for you!
I finished it a few days ago. I liked it, it's interesting especially if you like more serious action oriented stories. My only real issue with the story was kind of my fault I guess, but there were some characters in some routes talking about all sorts of past events out of context and that often left me confused until I finished other routes that gave much more context. I read it completely blind at first and you can't chose a specific route in the common route, the love interest you get depend on several of your choices so I started with the guy who probably would have been a much better choice as the last route for spoiler related reasons. And yeah the art is pretty good, I bought it on Steam on sales because that's what made me curious. My only real issue with this is that some of the less important characters that show up fairly often share generic sprites with hidden eyes so you have the princess' body guard and the MC's cousin looking like random guys when they show up a lot more often than I expected.

What is everyone reading? Are you enjoying it?

I started 101 Methods of Suicide (Jisatsu no Tame no 101 no Houhou) recently. It hasn't really grabbed me yet, but thankfully, it appears to be pretty short. I can see the influences it had on another VN I really like, so I suppose it's interesting for that purpose.

I'm a little over halfway through ouji sama lvl1 (it's not very good kek) and I read a bit of MOON. because I thought the hero was kinda cute.

I'm in that zone of just waiting for titles I'm actually interested in to finish being translated. I kinda wanna check out friendly lab even if it ends up being lame.

I bought Club Suicide on release and I was really enjoying it but the glitches with the zooming in in characters and typos really bothered me so I couldn't really get past the first few scenes of the route I chose. Hopefully they release a patch asap, I really wanna play it but the fuck ups are just too much for me right now.

Nona, you got me curious about Club Suicide despite not beign really an otome game fan. The constant topic of suicide and the fact that it is an anti-romance caught my attention, I decided to read Eba's route first and he's so cute. I swear my brain would block my chronic depression to take good care of his depressed ass~~ (and also do him)~~.

Can I force him to read yaoi and watch him go insane? Cute guy though, the other two routes I finished were the white hair fag and the black hair cover boy, didn't really enjoy either but maybe yuri boy will do it for me if I get to bully him a bit kek.

I wish companies released extras for BL games too…

 No.14039

I started Hakuoki months ago, completed two routes thanks to a guide and I'm considering reading it again to try and unlock the evil blond guy's route because I liked the VN a lot.

But there's a massive issue: whenever I didn't use a guide I just kept getting the neutral ending over and over again where the MC isn't paired up with anyone. I feel like using a guide ruins what makes the VN fun, whereas with other VNs I read whether they were BL VNs or otome VNs it was at least easy to know which route I unlocked while reading by myself without using a guide even if I wasn't always sure how to unlock a good or a bad ending. It's very frustrating, it feels like I'm looking up spoilers.

Same, but I feel no shame in using walkthroughs.

I've already watched the anime and read the game reviews so there is nothing left to spoil for me.

 No.14044

I didn't know about the anime until I already started the VN, if I knew maybe I would have watched it first because the story is interesting even if you remove all the romance. I heard about the VN a long time ago when I heard about its release on the PS Vita and the 3DS and dI didn't know which version to get but I'm reading it on PC thanks to Steam now.

The anime is worth-watching, even as a standalone story. The focus is more on the plot than any romance. If you are into history of Japan, it should be your thing.

dumping this here because the Monster Girl Quest thread I replied to is locked:

The sequel rpg maker game is so extremely good. I couldn’t get through the vn honestly. But the rpg’s job and combat system and crazy amount of unique dialogue (not even rape related) for every single monster and the npcs in the world makes it AAA game quality, if not better because of the time and passion put into it. Sadly the fanbase is what you would expect, but this game has been so addicting for me that it got me drawing again and feeling like an autistic fandom child. I don’t know if it’s the concept of this femdom rape and semen fueled world having some mystery crisis breakdown that hooked me or just the monster battling aspect.

Yo-Jin-Bo (https://vndb.org/v30) - it's such a fan otoge. It's a shame it never caught on despite being one of the first VNs to be officially translated. They should have promoted it as a comedy game, rather than a dating sim - I don't know what Hirameki International were thinking. The game is a blast if you want to indulge in something silly and unpretentious. The developing team must have had so much fun working on it. I'm sure their work meetings were all drinking sessions where they cracked jokes and scribbled random garbage on napkins. More VN writers should follow suit.

Lel, this reminds me of my teenage when I was a massive fan of Vincent Price, Roger Corman and b-movies from the 60s and 70s in general. I still love them, actually.

Now thinking about it, if these were modern anime or cartoons I believe that they would have a fujo fanbase. It's always movies that are either about a bunch of super quirky half-backed dude villains (usually involving Price, Lorre and Karloff) that try and fail to do evil stuff together or it's a character story about a lonely, broken man who gets insane because he cannot bear with his misfortune and mental issues any longer and eventually dies a lonely, tragic death (the Poe adaptions of Corman). Also, vampires. Vampires are gay on principle.
