A lot of it is, but I tend to be more a live and let live kind of person when it comes to people's porn habits. Unless they're getting actual death threats about it they should just shut up. The JP creator attitude towards fujos at times can be refreshing because they understand they are big financial supporters and will make merch catering to their sensibilities and for the most part shut up about any issues they have with yaoi. Really hate being a fan of the Time Skip for Training/Suffering genre because I love seeing mundane moments and I'm only lucky other female fans see the vision too. Character studies too… why put something in plain text when you could have it from the character's POV? I've been reading Korean series and looking at comments on sites broke my brain because of this shit. Dudes are completely missing entire sections of the plot because they're clinging to an already debunked theory from early chapters on the hopes the MC - in a comedy series about a weak guy mistaken for scary strong - becomes actually OP and starts wiping the floor with everyone for no reason with no consequences. A new series started and the comments immediately flooded with A) Hitler jokes and B) guys trying to weigh up if the MC is more or less powerful than Solo Leveling MC. It was normal for fujos to watch older shows and you could even get lucky and have decent writers pick up a show and write for a ship. We can complain about the kids these days, but most fans now grew up on this type of social media. We're the outliers. Naruto is always the gold standard people keep calling back to, so isn't the actual main difference the shorter length of shonen manga compared to before? If JJK or Demon Slayer were still running, the fandoms wouldn't have died down as much. Gintama was another very long running fujo favorite whose anime ended in 2021 (not counting the recent spinoff). I doubt we're ever going to get something on those levels again, authors today seem to care more about their health and avoiding burnout now. The model of releasing important arcs as movies has also been negative for fandoms as the wait time is higher for less story, in the past people would be less likely to jump fandoms during a waiting period but now it's easier for the casual fans to get sucked in to something else.

Where did all the actual pretty bishounen anime men go? I miss when m/m ships were actually attractive.

Does anyone else here hate this kind of content creators? I'm not sure that i can explain it properly, but it's like their entire content is sanitized and spoon fed to their viewers.

They base their comics on tropes that are clearly meant to be used in toxic relationships, but changing them to fit their own political agenda. Kinda pisses me off, they think they're in the highest pedestal of morality but at the same time they want to write heavier topics, ending up with a half-written messy story because thay didn't have the balls to address their character's real issues beyond basic angst. Even worse, they go around in every social saying practically implying that they can't be criticized or they'll feel " uncomfortable and unsafe" (They don't have a backbone), publishing every work under a label like "old man yaoi" to attract more views but never expanding upon anything they advertise.

Looking through their content, they do a lot of violence / monsters and have character relationships that would border on dubcon in most cases but it has this weird offputting feeling of like what the modern fujozoomer thinks "toxic yaoi" is like. The literally only reason for why I assumed they're women before meeting them was the fact that they shipped or explored some characters' minds and perception of the world. Actually, one of the main reasons for shipping among women seems to be the additional layer of vulnerability and character exploration that comes with shipping. People act different when they're with a lover and it reveals a side of them that is usually inactive when they engage with normal acquaintances or fight actual enemies.
I don't dare to make guesses as to why it works that way. But while there are some rare exceptions of men that do that too, most of the time you can be fucking sure that someone who explores a character's inner conflicts or love affairs is indeed a woman. Powerlevel fuckery was the reason for why I abandoned the Fate fandom for ages in the past, since it was all they could ever talk and argue about ("Can Shiki kill servants?" became a meme for a reason). I am glad that F/Z attracted so many fujos. Discussing Fate related anime and LNs is so much better now and every character gets a shitton of art and the writing for male characters that aren't MC massively improved as well.

I've been reading bl for decades, and the only instances of bad representation of female characters is literally where she is the villain, and that's rare in bl manga, it's always another dude who is the antagonist.

I'm a serial minor character fixator and I do it for both male and female characters, however for the almond to activate over a female character she has to have a genuinely cool/cute design with little to no fanservice and not be a love interest to a guy. This is my criteria for fave female characters in general and you'd be surprised how many get struck out by these two categories alone. If it's a main character I'll also need them to get to do plot relevant stuff without being sidelined in favour of a guy (common with shonen heroines) but extremely minor characters don't need much other than to look cool and have the hint of a neat concept.
I'm also less likely to become fixated if there's no shipping options (F/F in the case of girls). That's the difference between 'character I just want to draw fan art of' and 'character I will write fic about'. I will say that it's easy to find obscure girls who are cute, but interesting quirks/personalities are less common, especially in gachashit, where blandness is default. It's almost easier when you have a total blank slate such as a cute generic NPC Pokemon Trainer class design, then the sandbox is yours.

Despite its popularity in Japan Demon Slayer never got big with fujos, or even a lot of fish period compared to JJK.
