I can't blame them for that cause clearly it works and it prints money but I just got tired of slogging through the grindy gameplay and all the hideous new characters that don't appeal to me like the micro bikini lolis and titcows.

Gacha games are such a time sync I wish they would just release a VN with all the cutscenes and interactions stitched together.

I do think it would give you a deeper appreciation for the Fate character, as they really didn't capture how sympathetic he is in the original epic (I like the mythological character a lot). If you're interested in the Iliad, but aren't familiar with the history, there's a book by Olivia Coolidge called The Trojan War, which was my first exposure to the myth. Granted, I read this book as a child, and it's aimed at students, so I don't know how it holds up, but it's very digestible and is a little less dry than the epic. I think it would help you understand a lot in regard to the story, and probably provide some additional context. If you ever get to read the Iliad proper, the translation you choose can affect how enjoyable it is, as well.

It's been a while since I played Fate/grand order but looking back at it and what sort of other gacha games are popular now I think that the way FGO has guest artists contributes to me finding the male character designs here way more interesting than in some other games. As much as I like to clown on Raita for drawing freakish balloon tit women with tiny waists you also have Kintoki and Moriarty who are distinct and have entirely different vibes and just in general how this game has bishonen and older men and buff guys and twinks in various skin tones. I guess it also has to do with how games that use 3D models would prefer to keep bodies similar in order to reuse assets.

>>4662Hopefully there's fan rips out there for a franchise as big as Fate. It was posted at such a strange time in the week too, the Black Butler musicals were all on the weekends, but this was Wednesday to Friday for some reason.
It's a huge mess with many bad jokes but I collected some of the youtube MTL that made me laugh and finally compiled them into one collage. What you wouldn't get from these is how the music is, it opens with bagpipes and during the curtain call it reveals it's real fucking bagpipes they were blasting during Saber fights. I think the best songs came in the second half, in particular Lancer's brief "I want" song, Rider's army choir, and what my friend called "the surprise NTR duet" between the girls. The first half, nearish the middle I think, had a barely musical ""rap"" between Rider and Waver that was terrible but still made me laugh because of Waver yelling incredulously at Rider's ideas of a good time.
The fighter plane scenes near the end though. Oh my god why did I not try to record them. Kicking myself so badly over that. There were two extras on the top of the stage set holding model fucking planes and going "nyooooowww zooooomm" while a guy dressed as a pilot pretended to steer while sitting on a chair down below. Meanwhile Berserker's actor ran up and did what I could only describe as a spread and ready for breeding pose in front of the guy so he started screaming and the stage lights went red or something. I don't know how you're meant to recreate that sequence on stage, but that had to be the funniest visually.
Now I'm thinking about it, Excalibur got a fairly nice effect in that part. They had a curtain of fabric strips hung down in front of the set, and one strong light shining through between the strips dead center. When Saber let rip the fabric strips fell down starting from the center outwards so that the light spread out in a big beam. I mean, not quite a beam, but it was neat enough. Good job, stage, you did some stagey things that weren't After Effects projections.

>Saber is much more female-coded than I was expecting. I think it's a little more ambiguous with some of the lore stuff later on, but I do get what you're saying! From what I've seen, consensus is that he's male, especially given the circumstances surrounding his backstory. They do keep it ambiguous to the point where I stopped playing, though.
