>>6037Vassalord is great! It's hard to find a good English translation of the later volumes, but the plot is compelling and I love the characters. The relationship feels earned.
I also second Count Cain but it's less explicitly a romance. Still really good, and an excellent twist on Master Servant, which I love as well.

I freakin love the concept 'cause c'mon, it can lead to all sorts of stupid funny hijinks. Anything from 'gimme privacy I need some time alone-' to '…huh arent we technically sleeping together?'
It's especially good if they're both uncomfortable with the set-up at first then yeah, ghost boyfriend time lol. And it's a cool excuse to have a mystery plot too haha

Any ships or BL with this dynamic: older seme younger uke with age and size gap, but the seme is kinda awkward/shy/creepy? For instance a perv teacher lusting after his pretty young student who makes him sweat and his heart pound. Really need this dynamic but I've only encountered it in random fanfics and not sure where to find more, I'd also prefer the uke to be small and cute

>>6145Given your picrel you probably have already combed FF7 for this, and that's what came to mind for me. For fandoms you probably haven't considered, Danny Phantom has its fair share of body horror/noncon.

>>6145There is a lot of this for Tanjiro/Muzan or Tanjiro/other upper moon demons. Forced demon transformation/noncon/sometimes mpreg are common tropes there, but I can't say I've seen any that look 'good', at least in English. You might be able to find some good Japanese fanart / doujins (or fic if you are willing to google translate shit)

>>6344seconding MuTan, I recommend Once Awake by hiilikedragons as a great (but unfinished, 33 chapters) fic full of the themes anon mentioned, noncon, abuse, violence, mindfucky psychological torment, it's highly worth reading what's there!

I want a bl manga or manhwa where one of the guys is a consistent crossdresser. Fluff, and can be any plot or genre, but it must have a steady plot. Also, bonus points for any extra incest bl recommendations. Father/Son preffered, where son seeks first. Father first gives me ick. Not necessary though.

>>6562Abe Akane's work is the first thing that comes to mind for mildly dramatic plots. Sun & Moon in particular is a bit unconventional since the tall seme is the one who crossdresses.

Nonnas, I'm more or less new to BL (I'm a thirty-something nonna with Asperger who watched a few actual BL anime but a lot of fujobait anime a decade ago) so can you recommend me a BL (or BL-adjacent including pure fujobait) manga/anime/VN/game and so on with the criteria below:
>attractive male characters regardless of age (can be slender, lean or muscular, as long it is appealing to the female gaze)
>nuanced plot and character writing alike
>character dynamics where they treat each other as equals (I'm into switches, I'm ok with seme/uke if it's also flexible)?
>if it's a game, it has to be available on Steam or something like that, because I'm a PC/phone only gamer
>Bonus point if it's written by a woman where the female characters are more likely to be written the same way as male characters
Release date doesn't matter, and the in-work content can be whatever, but I'm more into stuff that isn't R-18 (as in stuff like visible genitals, nothing to do with the themes). I don't like Sanriocore aesthetics at all but I also don't want it all doomy gloomy either, I prefer emotional roller-coasters the most.
Sorry if I worded awkwardly.
No.7339
>>7338You could try Given. It's about guys in a band and generally speaking it's a story about grief and moving on. The anime adaptation first starts as a series but everything afterwards is adapted into movies.

>>7339Never actually read/watch it but I've listened to part of its music before, I've read that it's a popular work to be recommended for people looking for non-cookie cutter BL. Thanks for the suggestion!
>>7340I've been in touch with danmei when it became popular but never actually bothered with it. I'll probably just read the most popular entries on Webnovel or through physical books in my local French language to see if it aligns with my vibes. I like Chinese fantasy, but setting and thematical variety is greatly welcomed too, which danmei has!
No.7342
>>7338I think it would help if you mentioned what you’ve already seen and liked. For manga maybe try “Touch Within the Abyss”, “No.6”, and “Our Dining Table”? Almost every BLVN is R-18 kek but for a BL-adjacent one try “Saihate Station” and “Zeno Remake”.
No.7343
>>7338I have a list of manhwa which might fit your criteria. The tops/bottoms don't switch but they arguably hold equal or similar weight in their relationship. You could see the covers in picrel and go with whichever artstyle catches your fancy:
Lezhin titles:
>Broken BloodlineMinimal sex scenes, contractual relationship, supernatural elements
>10 YearsTrauma bonding, focuses on death/grief
>Master-PeaceUnconventional characters with explosive sexual tension. Artist is a cinephile and it shows in her storyboards
>Courtside CourtshipCollege romance. It's a lighthearted modern romcom so I don't think it's the emotional rollercoaster you have in mind, but this is still a HELL of a rollercoaster ride
>A Lovely MealNo sex, comfy and fluffy. Found family
Manta titles:
>Curveball splitterIf you enjoy baseball/spokon, this is spokon-adjacent but through the lens of cynical adults. No sex scenes IIRC
>Dark GuardianNo sex scenes, short series. Lucifer grooms a kid and the kid grooms back (not really)
>Semantic ErrorCollege romance. Out of all the series listed this is probably the one with more than one notable recurring female character. I was reading the Yen Press print editions and it elevated the work imo
Not licensed:
>Yang Ilwoo and IHigh school kids trauma bonding. I remember an anon on FC or LC recommended this to me a while back. It's too good to not be licensed

>>7342>>7343Thanks for all these recs so much! I'll be checking out all of those too and add them on my read list (haven't updated my animanga list in 2 years sigh).
I've heard of No.6 when the anime came but I didn't check it out back then because I used to be a pickme who watched a lot of moidslop back then, now I'll have a better appreciation of it if I'll read the novel translated and online.
Speaking of my tastes, I've seen Psycho-Pass which is my all-time weeb favorite but it's barely BL-ish despite having handsome men, watched Love Stage as my first BL but didn't like it, liked Free! and YoI back then and I found them entertaining and I really enjoyed their manservice (the main reason I'll try out Matome Heaven after seeing it mentioned on a joseimuke thread).
I've seen most of the mid-2010s fujobait stuff which I mildly to moderately enjoyed them back but would have better appreciaton nowadays now that I'm getting tired of tolerating moidslop post-COVID. I'll check out joseimuke music projects (which are basically audio dramas available on Youtube) that I've missed, too.
I found Bravern alright but I stopped regularly watching anime after mid-2010s (and I mostly watch originals because I'll consume weebshit through source materials instead of adaptations, will probably check out Mebius Dust and Sparks of Tomorrow this season because I liked their premises).
Genre and themes doesn't matter so I'll try out anything that tickles my fancy.
No.7347
>>7345PS: when it comes to BL and BL-adjacent stuff I'm also more into intense, plot-focused fujobait stories you'll see on Comic Zero Sum, Jump Square and old school G-Fantasy stuff, but like I said before, I don't have much particular preferences as long it gives off similar vibes to those stories.
